So October is officially here. Before you know it, it’ll be November, and then December, and then you’ll be sitting on a beach or in a caravan park somewhere, watching the kids play with their new Christmas presents and wondering where on earth 2013 went.
We reckon it’s time to start planning your summer holiday reads. Because there are some cracker reads coming out at the moment – perfect to snap up now before getting caught in the flurry of Christmas and all the mayhem it brings.
This month’s Book Circle episode features Tim Ferguson, Kathy Reich and Caroline Overington. The three of them cover off on their novels, which range in genre from crime to comedy – so there’s bound to be something to suit everyone’s tastes.
They also chat about how they manage to fit writing into their busy schedules.
Tim Ferguson: Is a widely acclaimed comedian, writer and producer. He has written live stage comedies, performed stand-up, musical comedy and light entertainment programmes. He is Australia’s foremost teacher of screen comedy. Along with Paul McDermott and Richard Fidler, Tim was apart of the Doug Anthony All-stars (DAAS) rock stars of comedy group. At the age of 31, Tim was also suddenly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) – but that hasn’t stopped him for a minute.
Watch Tim’s 30 second pitch:
Kathy Reich: From forensic anthropologist to producer of the hit tv series Bones, Kathy only just has time to fit in her love for writing the gripping Temperance Brennan novel series. Coming all the way from the Unites States, Kathy is also member of the National Police Services Advisory Board in Canada. Overachiever much?
Watch Kathy’s 30 second pitch:
Caroline Overington: We love Caroline here at Mamamia. She is currently working as the associate editor of the very iconic Australian’s Women’s Weekly – she is an award winning journalist. Her love of writing led her to write two non-fiction books and five novels. Oh, and she’s been raising twins along the way – a boy and a girl.

just finished Caroline's book in one breathless sitting. Amazing. Caroline I love your books and this one was the best yet. The characters will stay with me for a long time. I'll do an amazon review shortly but thank you for another brilliant read.
Can't wait - love her books too - I always finish them in 1-2 days. I haven't had time to read a book since my 2nd was born in January - definitely will have to find some time for this.
