It’s been almost a week now since the gut-wrenching finale of The Block Glasshouse, when everyone discovered that renovations are expensive and don’t leave you with a lot of money in the bank.
You’ll recall that the final auctions, which saw brother-duo Simon and Shannon Voss rake in an impressive $335,000 profit, also left three couples eyeing off the artwork to see whether they could make some money to supplement their apparently meagre earnings.
Now that the dust has settled on The Block: Moneypit, there’s one question that remains on every Block junkie’s lips: What ever happened to the sixth apartment?
Fans of the show will know that the five couples spent their last week in the converted-office block apartments, located in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran, renovating a sixth and final apartment in order to knock money off their reserve prices.
The fate of the final apartment is now the subject of hot debate online as some fans of the Channel Nine show call for it to be auctioned off and some of the profits split between the three couples who were left with almost nothing.
The show’s executive producer, Julian Cress, told news.com.au that a decision was yet to be made about what to do with the sixth and final apartment.
“We haven’t even thought about what we’ll do with the sixth apartment,’’ he said.
He went on to say that it was not on the current topic of agenda but would be decided sometime in the future.
For now, it is being reported that filming of season ten of The Block has begun in Darling Street, South Yarra, just a few blocks away from The Glasshouse. We wonder whether those contestants were recruited prior to the finale meltdown – and whether they are aware of how slim their prize purse might be.

Everyone needs to get over it and move on. It's a competition and the outcome should be final.
I wonder who that Indian lady is? Who is the lady with the black hair and also the bald man-they are at every Block auction-there must be other people who want to buy property in Melbourne-who are these people???
The bald man is frank, He is a real estate agent, so is there bidding on behalf of his clients, he had three (?) clients wanting apartments this season, so was bidding for them, with their money. Don't know what indian woman you're talking about but I would assume she'd also be an agent.
