'A big risk to take.' All the photos from The Block's WFH room reveal in one place.

This week's The Block was particularly challenging for the contestants.

Aside from the fact our couples were moved to the old part of their renovation, they also had to deal with a severe tropical storm dubbed Cyclone Ilsa and a public holiday — meaning no power tools for 24 hours.

Steph and Gian's week took a bit of a turn when the ceiling in one of their rooms caved in. Leah and Ash were also thrown a curveball when they discovered the protections for their ceilings couldn't stop the rain from coming in.

Eliza and Liberty were working on building their confidence back up after last week's particularly harsh judging.

In saying that, all the contestants had their rooms ready by judging time (kind of).

Here are the 'work from home' spaces from The Block this week:

Kyle and Leslie

Money spent: $13,917.

Kyle and Leslie really impressed the judges by delivering a room on a self-imposed tight budget.

The Spill

"The consistency this time is quite incredible," said Shaynna. "And the fact that we saw last week might not have had enough in it to suit the space but it's the same look and feel."

The consistent style could be a huge benefit down the line, the judges noted.

"They really get it," noted Marty. "You can just see how their marketing will come together."

Darren thought the functionality of the room was "spot on".

Leah and Ash

Money spent: $37,728.

The judges weren't happy Leah and Ash did not present the room as another bedroom instead.

This could be a big issue come auction time considering the couple have not accounted for a bedroom downstairs, which means they'll be going to market with a three-bedroom house.

"We don't have one single bedroom on the ground floor," Marty said. "They're sitting in a lane that is very dangerous... You need a bedroom on the ground floor to service a guest."

"If you're not researching the market before you do the work, it's quite a big risk to take," he added.

Shaynna was super impressed the couple kept going despite having to deal with the impact of Cyclone Ilsa.

"This is no cheap room," said Darren. "That stone along [their fireplace] is a huge investment. We said go bold again, and they definitely did go bold."

Because of the colour and application, the judges loved the room a lot more than Kirsty and Brett's space.

But overall, they think the room also has major functionality issues.

Kristy and Brett

Money spent: $29,919.

The judges thought Kristy and Brett took the 'work from home' brief too literally.

This room reminded them of a corporate office, not a welcoming space in a beautiful suburban family home.

"We're at the front of the house and we have a floor plan that's quite unique," Marty said of the fact the couple's designated office space overlooks the pool, arguing it could have been more adaptable.

"I'm not too sure this is doing them any favours."

Shaynna agreed.

"This feels like we're at a commercial office," she noted. "Is this the best use of space?"

Marty felt this room did not connect to their previous rooms, which all the judges see as a problem for Kristy and Brett.

Steph and Gian

Money spent: $22,380.

Shaynna loved the use of the beam while Marty felt the room had a real sophistication about it.

"Wow," Shaynna said immediately. "I just wanna say that I love the commitment to the beams. I'm sold on them. I really am sold on them."

She also loved the two desks and the flexibility of the space.

Marty noted the room felt "high-end."

"I love everything about it," he said.

Darren wasn't sure about the beams in the work from home space, saying they felt "intrusive" but eventually came around, as he felt everything worked.

"This as a functional workspace/medium viewing space? Brilliant."

Eliza and Liberty

Money spent: $27,051.

There was a lot to love this week for Shaynna who was impressed the team managed to finish after all the rain.

"I think it's great," she noted.

The judges agreed that compared to last week, this was a real step up. "It is an improvement to what we saw last week," Darren said.

Shaynna agreed saying, "These girls have got spunk."

The main criticism was the judges thought the Slim Aarons-styled artwork was not right for the room, and the blue wallpaper looked cheap.

"It reads like a replica of something," Darren said. "In this market [and] to this buyer, you don't want the replication of something. You want something with authenticity."

He didn't think the artwork helped either.

"This artwork could go in the pool house," Shaynna said.

However, overall the room was a "100 per cent" improvement following their room fail the week before.
