Week two has come and gone on The Block and to say it was an immense challenge for all the contestants would be a massive understatement.

As week two was a guest bedroom, the couples felt a little more confident knowing they'd gone through this before with the Room Decider Challenge (well, everyone except for Rachel and Ryan that is).

However, things were not looking up for House One, as they had a shutdown on Tuesday after Tom believed he found asbestos on site (ICYMI, he didn't).

All of the contestants had to step away from their renos for a few hours later in the week, to partake in the Nosy Neighbour Challenge, which Sharon won easily.

Here are all the photos from The Block's guest bedroom reveal:

Tom and Sarah-Jane

Money spent: $8,554

Upon entering House One's guest bedroom, Neale Whitaker was pleasantly surprised.

"Tom and Sarah-Jane are demonstrating a real sophistication," he noted.

Shaynna Blaze praised the couple for being able to "understand texture".

After opening the wardrobe door closest to the window, Shaynna noted it was "almost unuseable".

The real problem the judges noted, though, was the fact the window is in the wrong place.

"There's a lot of things involved in fixing that," Darren Palmer said.

Rachel and Ryan

Money spent: $14,966

Rachel and Ryan were extremely proud of their guest bedroom, and the judges were impressed too... initially.

"This feels so lovely," commented Shaynna upon seeing the size of the space. "I first walk in here and it's got a beautiful feel. I think the sense of space really helps."

Neale also commended the panelling on the walls, saying: "It's not traditional but it is a nod to something that is traditional - and that interests me."

Darren agreed but stated the paint job needed work.

"It is really messy," he noted. "I can see every brush stroke where it's met with dry paint and wet paint. I can see every roller mark. I can see every imperfection on that paint, and it's distressing me."

Darren added he wasn't a fan of the colour either, much to the disagreement of Neale.

The judges also told the contestants not to take their renovation "any more contemporary" than it already is. "I feel it's a good room, but it could've been a great room," Neale said.

To finish, Shaynna advised the couple to "pay respect" to their home.

Ankur and Sharon

Money spent: $13,403

Ankur and Sharon were a little more optimistic this week after winning the Nosey Neighbour Challenge, as they received the infamous Gnome.

Just a little FYI: Contestants who win the Gnome at a challenge can use it during any room reveal judging of their choosing. However, it can only be played after Darren and Shaynna's scores have been revealed, and before Neale's scores are revealed.

Upon entering House Three, Neale lamented that Ankur and Sharon were officially back in the game.

"Last week, [they] delivered a bathroom that I felt was very cold. It was very overwhelmingly grey," Neale explained. "This week, I feel the complete opposite. This is a charming room."

Darren loved how white and bright the paint was. "It feels just right for this house."

Shaynna was very impressed with the subtle decor styling and the blue and cream colour palette.

However, the judges couldn't help but notice the pendant light and the skylight were placed too close together. Darren described it as "a dog's breakfast".

"It gives me this overwhelming urge to move [the chandelier] back in. It just feels too close," said Neale.

Despite the critiques, the judges loved the room.

"Aesthetically, the feeling of this room, I LOVE," said Darren.

Dylan and Jenny

Money spent: $12,145

Dylan and Jenny had a relatively smooth time this week, noting that Week Two had been much better than Week One.

The judges clearly felt the same too, as Shaynna exclaimed the pair are the "best students ever", upon walking into House Four.

"It's lush, it's luxury, it's heaven, and I'm in love," she said.

Darren praised the level of labour put into the bedroom, saying: "It's really quite a complex room."

Neale agreed, adding: "It feels established.. It's got that sense of comfort."

The one thing that didn't make sense to Darren was the functionality of the sheer curtains and shutters, who noted that it was awkward to manoeuvre.

Shaynna also wanted the Blockheads to know they do not need to fill "every corner".

"It's just unnecessary," she said.

Omar and Oz

Money spent: $10,681

Omar and Oz had many decisions to make this week and even held a body corporate meeting to get permission to work ahead, but overall they remained committed to their small guest bedroom.

The judges had mixed opinions on the space.

"It's unexpected. I think in terms of the structure of the room, I really like the position, the scale, the skylights... that's quite remarkable," noted Darren.

The judges appreciated the attention to detail but Shaynna had concerns over whether Omar and Oz had implemented heating underneath the flooring or not.

"This is going to be the ultimate cold room," she said.

Neale, however, was blown away by the "sophistication" of their styling.

"You can't help but be impressed by the professionalism," he said.

Despite mixed feedback, Omar and Oz were happy to have their room finished.

"[The critique] was alright for a guest bedroom," the boys said.
