The Spill: Tuesday's best entertainment and gossip news.

1. There are rumours Bachie fave Elly Miles might be next year’s Bachelorette and please let this be true.

Like Nikki Gogan before her, Elly Miles will go down in Bachelor history as one of the series’ fan favourites that we all thought would win.

But when the 24-year-old nurse tried to tell Bachie Matt that Abbie Chatfield was in the competition for the “wrong reasons”, Matt decided to send Elly home instead.

And hearts around the nation broke.

Alas, rumours are going around that Elly will return to our screens once again, but this time as The Bachelorette.

You see, Sportsbet – famously known for predicting the Bachie winner each year – have tipped Elly to be the leading lady in next year’s series of the show.

And since previous Bachie couple, Matt and Chelsie, have called it quits, we need some shining light of hope to come out of the 2020 season.

On the Sportsbet website, Elly is currently the favourite with odds of $3 and Abbie is a close second with odds of $4.50.

Chelsie is also on the list with odds of $5.50.

It looks like we’ll just have to wait and see what happens when The Bachelorette returns next year.

2. Yikes. The story behind why Ellen DeGeneres didn’t attend Dakota Johnson’s birthday party makes the ‘awkward’ interview even worse.

It looks like Ellen DeGeneres’ cringeworthy interview with Dakota Johnson isn’t leaving headlines anytime soon.

In case you missed it, Dakota appeared on Ellen’s show last week when the topic of Dakota’s 30th birthday party came up.

Ellen asked Dakota, “How was the party? I wasn’t invited” but Dakota insisted, “that’s not the truth, Ellen. You were invited.”

Ellen’s producer eventually came out to confirm she was, in fact, invited which led Ellen to remember, “Oh yeah, I had a thing.”

But that was only the beginning of the awkwardness.

You see, multiple news publications have now picked up on the important “thing”  Ellen was doing instead of attending Dakota’s party.

And it turns out this was the weekend Ellen appeared with George W. Bush and his wife Laura at the Cowboys-Packers game.

The game was on October 7 in Texas but the party was the day before on October 6 in Califonia, so it’s possible Ellen could have gone to both.

But instead, she opted to go to the game and give the party a miss.

3. The Bachelor’s Abbie and Bachelorette’s Nathan were seen together at a party, now people are saying they’re dating.

Over the weekend, influencers flocked to Sydney’s summer hotspot, Seadeck, for haircare brand Bondi Boost’s Christmas party.

Two of those people attending were The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield and The Bachelorette’s Nathan Favro, who were seen flirting throughout the event.

Favro, who was a contestant on Ali Oetjen's season of The Bachelor and then later participated on this year's Bachelor in Paradise, was apparently all over Abbie during the event and after, and uploaded a photo of himself to his Instagram and tagged Abbie in it.

Sources also said that the pair were seen dancing as if they were in the film, Dirty Dancing.

Interesting.

Oh, how we would have loved to be a fly on the wall...

However, it's worth stating that while the pair seemed to have enjoyed each other's company on the day, neither have confirmed they are dating.

4. "We just gettin' started." Angie Kent cheekily shuts down rumours that her relationship with Carlin Sterritt is in trouble.

Our 2019 Bachelorette Angie Kent was quick to shut down any rumours circulating that suggest her relationship with winner Carlin Sterritt might be on the rocks.

In fact, she shared with her Instagram audience that the pair are actually doing great.

Over the past week, the pair have been soaking up the sun while on holiday in Vietnam.

Uploading a candid selfie of the two of them at the end of their trip, Angie wrote, "Ahhhh. All good things must come to an end.

"I'm talking about the holiday before any of y'all decide to jump on that wild ass rumour mill...

"We just gettin' started @carlinsterritt."

Consider that rumour well and truly squashed.

5. According to the internet, Avril Lavigne died in 2003. We unpack the ridiculous theory.

Warning: This post contains mentions of suicide, and may be triggering for some readers.

According to the internet, Avril Lavigne died between 2002 and 2004, so roughly since 2003.

But the conspiracy theory doesn’t just stop there. Oh no.

It’s believed that since her ‘death’, the singer has been replaced by her friend and actress, Melissa Vandella.

Apparently Lavigne’s record company initially hired Vandella in 2002 to be her body double after the then-17-year-old grew weary of fame after the release of her hit debut album Let Go in 2002. As the story goes, Vandella then took over Lavigne’s identity and career after the ‘Complicated’ singer allegedly died by suicide in 2003, after the death of her grandfather.

Like we said, it’s a lot.

Here’s everything else we know about the twisted theory.

Why do fans think Avril Lavigne is dead?

According to various sources, the rumour was started on a Brazilian fan website, before taking over the internet.

As for whether there’s any evidence which confirms this theory… well, to quote the now 35-year-old singer: “WHY DO THINGS HAVE TO BE SO COMPLICATED???”

Diehard fans say Melissa-Avril’s face is different to Lavigne’s real face, with some alleging that her moles and permanent skin blemishes have also disappeared. Whether that’s the result of skilled makeup artists, cosmetic procedures, or advancements in skincare technology… who can say?
