UPDATE: Facebook has today deleted all photographs featuring dead animals from the page of teenage hunter, Kendall Jones.
The Texas teen came to international attention when Facebook photographs of her with the bodies of African animals she had hunted went viral.
Many of the photographs (including those pictured below) have now been removed by the social networking site for violating community standards.
A statement released by Facebook today claims they strive to remove all, ” reported content that promotes poaching of endangered species, the sale of animals for organised fight or content that includes extreme acts of animal abuse”.
Despite this, in the last week alone, Jones’ page has grown from 12,000 to over 470,000 followers. A representative also told Buzzfeed, it is likely a new TV show based on her life will still air next year.

This is Kendall.
As much as I’d love to refer to her as The Anti-Bindi, her real name is Kendall Jones.
The animal next to Jones is the Lion she’s just shot and killed.
Jones is a 19-year-old hunter from Texas that’s literally gunning to have her own hunting TV show next year.
She came to worldwide fame over the past week after she uploaded pictures of her African ‘harvests’ to Facebook. Since then, Jones has become the target of a petition from upwards of 40,000 people who want her public Facebook page (Kendall Jones) taken down.
Because basically, if a serial killer had a trophy cabinet, Jones’ Facebook page would be the modern day version.
(Just be aware that these images could be distressing for some readers.)
At the time this post went live, 41,196 people had signed the petition for Jones’ photos to be removed from social media.
The petition reads:
“For the sake of all animals, especially the animals in the African region… where hunters are going for fun just to kill an animal! Some people have been reporting the pages lately but it seems Facebook is not concerned about what Kendall Jones is promoting in her page.”
I personally hope the petition survey will make Jones take a serious look at what she’s doing, and to rethink her decision to hunt defenceless animals that just want to go about their lives like we do, without fear.
As an animal lover and someone who even hates killing a spider (I let Daddy Long Legs live in the corners of my house), this makes me really sad.
Sad because Kendall believes she’s doing the world a favour and controlling the male lion population.
“People try to say that lions will not attack a hippo, rhino or elephant, quite the contrary. Lions attack and kill the young of these species,” Jones writes on her Facebook page.
“Controlling the male lion population is important within large fenced areas like these,” she writes. “Funds from a hunt like this goes partially to the government for permits but also to the farm owner as an incentive to keep and raise lions on their property.”
Jones has even gone so far as to imply that her “kills” are helping feed people in African villages. She’s also said that every hunt is a “fair chase”.
Hmmm…
I don’t know about that. How fair is a chase with a gun or a crossbow? I’d love to see you chase a cheetah and fight it with your bare hands. Maybe that could be your next filmed adventure.
Kendall, why don’t you go home? Why don’t you pick a different sport to play like hockey or basketball? I’m not sure if it has hit you yet, but “harvesting” animals isn’t really cool with the world.
You know what would be cool though, being ballsy enough to change your mind and use your talents as a weapon for good. The world can always use another animal crusader. Unfortunately there are not enough.
Your move.

What is wrong with hunting? Are you aware of what the hunting industry does FOR Africa? First, all the meat from animals is given to the local tribes. You aren't allowed to take the meat home. Second, hunters pay thousands of dollars for the opportunity to hunt, and THAT money helps to fight poaching and fund other conservation efforts. Perhaps you should do some research on the topic before you condemn it.Third, there are some sub-species within a species. Just because some lions are endangered doesn't mean all are. You aren't permitted to legally hunt endangered animals, even in Africa. Get over yourself and get your facts straight. To otherwise just makes you sound like an idiot.
-what happened to freedom of expression?
-she isn't doing anything illegal.

-all you people who signed this petition to get her photos off Facebook, why don't we go through all your posts and kick you off based off of what i or someone else thought was morally wrong with you? You don't want to see it? Don't look. You don't like it? You want to do something about it? Don't try to cover it up and pretend it never happened. Express your opinion but realize that so does everyone else.
