In October of 2017 a fan asked Teddy Geiger on Instagram, “Tell us, why do you look different lately?”
The singer-songwriter’s answer was candid and, to many, a surprise.
“I am transitioning,” the 29-year-old wrote.
“I feel like the next step is to tell all y’all. So here goes… Love it or hate, this is who I have been for a looooong time.”
This Tuesday marked her first red carpet appearance since her transition at the BMI Pop Awards hosted by Broadcast Music, Inc in Beverley Hills, California. She looked amazing.
At the event, Geiger was honoured for her role in writing and producing some of Shawn Mendes’ biggest hits such as ‘There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back’ and ‘Mercy,’ both of which were listed as award winning songs at the ceremony.
Geiger wore a a black embellished midi-dress, paired with patent black Mary Janes and a metallic clutch.
Since her transition, Geiger has confirmed on Twitter that she will be using she/her pronouns, as well as keeping her first name, Teddy.

Why do we have to indulge and celebrate these autogynophiles? I just hope he doesn't do a Caitlyn Jenner and rob some deserving woman of a women's award because he's labouring under the delusions of gender dysphoria. Until he transitioned, had anyone heard of him anyway except as a songwriter, who, lets face it, rarely achieve known celebrity?
