Swedish authorities have arrested a 38-year-old doctor who allegedly kidnapped and held a woman in a “rape dungeon” because he “wanted a girlfriend”.
The case has similarities chillingly like that of Austrian Josef Fritzl’s underground dungeon, where he kept his daughter, Elizabeth captive in an underground dungeon for 24-years.
The Swedish doctor, who has not been named, reportedly intended to keep his victim captive for “several years” in the purpose-built bunker that it is believed he began constructing more than five years ago.
Five years planning his crime, identifying his victim, building his rape dungeon complete with a bedroom, toilet and kitchen.
The dungeon had 30cm walls so that his victims could not be heard and a fully covered courtyard where a person could go outside – without being seen by any of the neighbours.
Images released by police show the purpose-built bunker included a double bed, a fridge stocked with food, a sink and a toilet, they show scattered items around the bunker of condoms, syringes and strange masks for disguise.
Chief prosecutor Peter Claeson said: “We believe his intention has been to keep the woman locked up for several years.
“We also suspect him of planning this for years. Among other things, he has built the bunker to bring one or more victims.”

Apart from decrying what a horrible person he was, he can't have been that bright, I mean he took her to the police station, really? And this 'tool' was a doctor? Well all I can say is it's a good thing that he was so stupid! That poor woman, bad enough what she went through and to think if he hadn't been an idiot it would have become even worse. I shudder to think there may be others trapped in similar situations and we don't know about it.
