"I'M DEAD INSIDE": Australia reacts to the moment Luke Toki was eliminated from Survivor 2019.

We hoped this day would never come, but sadly, it’s here.

On Monday night, Luke Toki was voted out of Australian Survivor 2019. As host Jonathan LaPaglia put out his torch, hearts shattered around the country.

Not a more devastating reality TV moment has there been since Tyra Banks screamed ‘I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU’ at Tiffany Richardson on cycle 4 of America’s Next Top Model in 2005.

Despite having won four individual immunity challenges throughout the season, Luke wasn't able to beat Harry Hills in the tricky ball-catching challenge to secure a spot in the final three.

One slip was all it took for the three remaining contestants Pia Miranda, Harry Hills and Baden Gilbert to send the game's biggest threat home.

The 33-year-old FIFO mining technician from WA had a target on his back from the moment the champions and contenders tribes merged. As eliminated contestant Shaun Hampson said time and time again, no one would be able to beat Luke in the final two because he has the best story.

Australia first met the father-of-three two years ago when he made a name for himself as the ‘King of the Jungle’ on the 2017 season of Survivor. After finishing seventh that year, Luke came back on the show in 2019 to try and win the $500,000 prize money for his family.

Luke previously spoke on the show about the sacrifices he made to compete for the chance to win Sole Survivor – leaving his wife at home with their two sons and six-week old daughter born with cystic fibrosis.

But alas, it wasn't meant to be. And now Australia is feeling all the feelings.
