So, I’ve just watched the unedited footage of Kate’s ‘boil’ being….popped? squeezed? cut open?… on Survivor Australia and there’s only one thing I’m thinking right now: WHY DID I WATCH THIS?
After Monday night’s episode, where contestant Kate revealed her horrible underarm injury, I wasn’t the only person who was dying to see the unedited footage.
Someone even set up a Twitter account dedicated to the boil’s moment in the sun.
But just like that time Ron Burgundy drank milk while hungover on a hot day, I immediately regretted my decision.
The footage is…well, very pus-filled, to say the least.
And while it’s no Dr. Pimple Popper, it most certainly is not for the faint-hearted.
The boil was actually an ingrown hair that became infected, forcing her to undergo emergency treatment in the shade of the Samoan palm trees.
The 28-year-old said having the abscess drained was one of the most painful things she's ever experienced. And now that we've seen the full procedure? We most definitely feel her pain.
The Binge podcast is a safe space for anyone who loves TV. Even when it's this... gruesome.

Had something similar on my neck, a golfball sized staph infection. Can confirm anesthetic doesn't do much in that situation, and it hurts a lot!
My mum had a boil. After misunderstanding the dose instructions she drank a whole nutmeg grounded with warm milk. It gave her a horrible hazy weekend but the boil went. 40 years later she never got another. Found out later she should have used a quarter nutmeg
