Steven Avery's own son doubts his father's innocence.

It’s the criminal case that has millions of people scratching their heads and wondering, “Did Steven Avery really kill Teresa Halbach?”

Now it’s been revealed one person asking that exact question is Avery’s own son, Steven Junior.

In an interview with Crime Watch Daily, Avery’s twin boys Bill and Junior have shared what it’s like to have their family catapulted into the spotlight and scrutinised by the masses.

Unsurprisingly,  their lives have been severely marred by the experience, but it is unavoidable in their family’s plight for legal justice.

“It sucks having everything out in the open like that. At the same point, it’s good because a lot of people see a little bit of a bigger picture,” said Steven Jr.

Despite their own dad being the crux of one of America’s greatest obsessions, the twins feel somewhat removed from the case.

“I just see him as a complete stranger. I know that he’s my father, but I grew up without a father for so long that it just kind of feels like I don’t have [one],” Bill told the publication.

When it comes to answering the most significant question: “Do you think your father killed Teresa Halbach?,” opinion was split between the brothers.

While Bill was confident with his response, “No, I don’t think he did.” Steven, Jr. wasn’t so definite.

“I have no idea. I mean…only one person can answer that and that is Teresa. But she can’t answer it no more.”

While undecided if his father did or didn’t kill Teresa Halbach, Junior firmly believes he is deserving of a second trial.

“The only thing I know was the entire case was very shady. It’s clear that there was corruption,”

“Him and Brendan deserve a fair trial. That’s my take on it. If they’re guilty, let them sit. But if they’re free, get them out. It’s been ten years now. They’ve wasted going on 30 years of his life if he’s innocent.”
