Stephanie Scott's family are asking people to have a cup of tea for Stephanie at 3pm today.

A beautiful way to remember someone who was taken far too soon.

Today, Stephanie Scott would have been 27 years old.

The English and drama teacher disappeared from the school she worked at in the NSW town of Leeton in April this year.

Days later, her body was found in national park  70 kilometres from Leeton.

It was just a few days before Stephanie was due to marry her childhood sweetheart Aaron Leeson-Woolley.

Today — October 14 — would have been Stephanie’s birthday.

To mark the occasion, her family have asked everyone to have a cup of tea at 3pm, the time that Stephanie was born.

Stephanie’s older sister Kim took to her Facebook page to share the family’s request yesterday, with response by commenters being overwhelmingly positive.

Today, Kim invited everyone, who does have a cup of tea, to share their photos on her Facebook page.

Stephanie was allegedly killed by the school’s cleaner, aided by his twin brother.

At 3pm, we have the opportunity to honour the young woman who was subjected to this completely senseless crime.

Here at Mamamia, we’ll be putting on the kettle at 2:58pm and having a cup of tea for Stephanie.
