"I have peace." Sophie Cachia has opened up about her split from fiancée Maddie Garrick.

Sophie Cachia has opened up about her separation from fiancée Maddie Garrick.

In an interview with the Herald Sun, the entrepreneur shared that she wishes her former partner well.

"While breakups are sad for everyone, I have chosen to have a really positive mindset and I have peace knowing we shared a wonderful few years together and I wish her all the best both personally and professionally overseas," she said.

"Every challenge in life will provide you with a lesson," she continued.

"You can either choose to stay the same, or grow from it, and I promised myself I’d never let anyone break me again.

"I could play the poor me card, or I could look at the life I’ve built — I have two incredible children, a beautiful home and a wonderful career. I really have everything I need."

The mother of two announced the sudden split on her Instagram Stories in October, writing: "It is with sadness and a great deal of pain that I have unfortunately made the decision to end my relationship."

"When I proposed, I did it with the guarantee of loyalty, trust, honesty and respect from my end," she continued.

"Despite the great deal of love I still hold, I have made this decision to lead by example for what I know I deserve in life for myself, and for my children - because we are all worthy.

"While I am hurting, life must go on. I still have to show up for work with my businesses and most importantly be a mum and role model to my two children.

"This is unfortunately a position I really didn't want to be in. I will not be commenting any further."

The CACHIA founder proposed to Australian basketball player Maddie Garrick on Mardi Gras weekend in February.

At the time, Maddie captioned their engagement announcement post: "It was always you."

Sophie also shared her own post, thanking Unique Diamonds Australia for creating the ring.

"Thank you for understanding my vision of three diamonds to represent myself, Bobby and Florence in Maddie's ring. I was originally going to do something different, but the diamond is Maddie's birthstone and I knew she would want something classic and timeless. I took my Mumma along to help me design it months ago and IT FIT which was the hardest part! We are having a ball celebrating - thank you everyone."

Appearing on Mamamia's No Filter, Sophie reflected on co-parenting with Jaryd and Maddie.

"It's a beautiful arrangement that works perfectly for our family," she shared.

"It's about abandoning what we think or we're told we should be. And that's what I've done, I've thrown that out the window. I respect this man [Jaryd] more than anyone in the entire world. He's still my confidant. He's been my shoulder to cry on during heartbreaks and breakdowns. He's Maddie's biggest fan."

On the podcast, Sophie also shared that her relationship with Maddie was always meant to be.

"I always knew things had the ability to move quickly with Maddie. I was scared [of settling down and the future of marrying someone again] and because I was scared of hurting her again. I ran away from it for so long, and I realised that among all the flights, the holidays, the ups and downs, all I wanted at the end of the day was someone to come home to, to sit on the couch with me in my pyjamas watching Home And Away," she said.

"I realised that I wanted to live my life with someone. And whenever I envisaged that, it was always Maddie."
