But it’s okay because he got McDonald’s. And bubbles.
Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster-Blake spent their Sunday evening in the emergency department at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne after their one-year-old son, Sonny, sliced his thumb open.
But it’s okay, because the staff at the hospital brought around McDonald’s cheeseburgers and bubbles for their patients
Zoe, 35, took to Instagram to thank the staff at the hospital.
Alongside a photo of Hamish, 33, and Sonny, she wrote:
“Boy split thumb open. Boy very sad. Boy in emergency. Boy have painkillers while he waits for doctor. Boy happier now. Boy thinks bubbles are very funny. Boy is the best boy. Side note: RCH and its staff are phenomenal. This was a super minor injury, especially compared to some very unwell kids in there and we are so grateful for their help/bubbles/drugs.”
Hamish also shared a photo on Instagram of the experience, with Zoe holding Sonny as he looks adorably sad.
He wrote:
“I just want to thank the professionals that turn up to the Royal Children’s Hospital every day and literally save and change lives by serving emergency cheeseburgers to families in a timely and hot manner. (Also doctors and nurses you are the best people in the world).”
Good to see you’re okay, Sonny.

Isn't the bigger issue about putting such an unhealthy, manipulative of children corporation into a children's hospital totally contradictory?? I hate that it's there in the first place... But it gets delivered?? I dread the day my child is in the RCH but I will still not be letting my child have MacDonalds while there, especially so young
Hi Gary, as someone who used to work at the RCH I can assure you that no body delivers McDonald's to the ED or any ward for that matter.
It's available for families and visitors among a number of other food outlets and patients are served hospital meals. I believe this was written with tongue firmly in cheek!
The story is in Mamamia Celebrity - The Foster-Blakes are Aussie celebrities, with a very cute baby with extremely pinchable cheeks ... I think y'all should lighten up a little with the intense feedback.
