Sonia Kruger explains her biggest pregnancy fear.

And her relief that it didn’t happen.

Sonia Kruger, 49, is finally back on our TVs just months after welcoming her first child, daughter Maggie into the world. And in a pre-show interview, the new mum explained her biggest fear whilst carrying her baby.

Kruger revealed she was fearful during her pregnancy after suffering several miscarriages in the past.

Speaking to TV Week she said, “I was really happy (about the pregnancy). But because I’d been through it before and had several miscarriages, I didn’t want to get too excited.”

"It wasn't until Maggie was born and safely in the world that I could relax. You hear about women losing their baby late in their pregnancy. I don't think I could have coped with that heartbreak," she continued.

But Kruger successfully gave birth to Maggie at the end of January, following several years of unsuccessful IVF attempts.

In relation to being back at work, Kruger said, "It would be easy to stay home with Maggie and be a full-time mum. Unfortunately, I have a mortgage and bills to pay. But I feel lucky to have had this time with her."
