We road-tested Kmart's new collection and found a bunch of SKIMS dupes for under $20.

Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand SKIMS has been in the spotlight this week after she announced that she’s releasing a bra with built-in nipples. Yep, you read that right. And while the undergarment remains contentious, her brand, overall, is actually loved by many.

Known for its loungewear, shapewear and basics such as tees and dresses, SKIMS quickly became a household name, with many women having at least one item from the iconic brand on rotation.

So you can imagine my excitement when Kmart emailed me about their latest collection and I spotted a bunch of SKIMS dupes, all under $20.

SKIMS clothing can range anywhere between $70 to  more than $200, and while I think it’s totally worth it, a more affordable option is always welcome.

Of course, we had to try it out, so I had my lovely colleague Isabelle test out the Kmart versions and give me her honest verdict.

Let’s get into it!

Kmart Longline Seamfree Bodysuit, $17. Dupe for the SKIMS Mid Thigh Bodysuit, $130.

Isabelle's verdict: "I'm the proud owner of the SKIMS bodysuit and it's something I wear often. I can confidently say that the Kmart version is a solid dupe. It fits just like the SKIMS one does, and it looks seamless underneath tight, fitted clothing. Plus, you really cannot beat the price. The bottom half the shapewear doesn't ride up and stays in place, and because of its nude colour, it's invisible underneath white clothing. The one thing I will give SKIMS extra points for is that they sell a lot more shades and sizes, making it more inclusive."

Kmart Short Sleeve Luxe T-Shirt, $10. Dupe for the SKIMS Soft Smoothing Seamless T-Shirt, $94.

Isabelle's verdict: "This Kmart t-shirt is SO soft and smooth – it's also very form fitting so if you're looking for a bit of a looser fit, maybe go a size up. The material is pretty much the same as the SKIMS tee, which is similar to Lycra, making it a perfect basic for the warmer months. If there's one word I would use to describe this top it would be 'snatched', because that's how it makes me feel."

Kmart Sleeveless Halter Bodysuit,$15. Dupe for the SKIMS High Neck Bodysuit, $106.

Isabelle's verdict: "My first impression of this bodysuit was just how soft and smooth it was. While I loved it and will probably be buying a few more in other colours, for the sake of this review, I would say that the SKIMS version fits slightly better. The straps on the Kmart version are also thicker, but in saying that, for $15, I really can't complain!"

So there you have it! SKIMS: officially duped.
