Victorian man jailed over horrific sexual assault of his newborn surrogate twins.

Trigger warning: This post contains issues of sexual abuse and may be triggering for some readers.

A Victorian man whose acts a judge described as ‘depraved’ has been jailed for 22 years for the repeated sexual abuse of his surrogate twin daughters.

The stomach-turning case has been in the courts for months with gruesome details released with every hearing.

The Herald Sun reported that on Thursday County Court Judge Susan Cohen said the offending against the twins was planned and began almost immediately after the girls arrived in Australia.

“As newborns they could not have been more vulnerable… it could hardly be more morally (repugnant),” Judge Cohen said.

The 49-year-old man paid $44,000 to have twin girls conceived in Asia after he and his wife suffered difficulties conceiving.

The abuse was said to have begun when the girls were only 27 days old and continued for seven months.

The man would film the acts before sharing them with other paedophiles over the internet.

It was said the man used the online alias “Candy” when sharing how he drugged the children before sexually abusing them.

The Age reported Judge Cohen viewed some of the images and videos seized and said she would find them difficult to forget.

"The fear I saw in the eyes of an unknown very young child... made a deep impression on me that will be very hard to forget," Judge Cohen said.

“What I saw conveys example of the gravity of the exploitation of children.”

The court heard the man had been abusing his nieces before he paid for the twins to be brought over.

The man would drug them when they were under his supervision before filming himself committing the abuse and uploading it online.

"It was a huge betrayal of your nieces as well as your brother... This was not spontaneous," Judge Cohen said.

Mamamia previously reported there was no indication his wife was aware of or complicit in the abuse, and the young girls have been removed to the care of the Department of Health and Human Services.

The man will serve his sentence under protection.
