Serena Williams ate gourmet dog food. Regretted it.

She may be known for her brilliant skills as a tennis player and empowered feminist views, but it seems Serena Williams judgement has gone to the dogs.

We’ve all considered it at some point (haven’t we? No, just me…). Your dog or cat’s food smells okay, and might even look good enough to eat. But no one really goes through with it, right? Well, no one… except for Serena Williams.

While visiting Rome for the Internazionali NNL d’Italia tennis tournament, Williams spent time in a hotel with her pooch, Chip. The venue boasted a luxurious pet food menu—because apparently that’s something that happens at luxury hotels—leading Williams to order her pup a salmon and rice dish. So, naturally, she was enticed to try the meal herself.

“I’m like, ‘What the heck, I’m going to try a piece. It looks good. So I ate a spoonful. Don’t judge me! I ate a spoonful,” Williams said via Snapchat.

In a turn of events we could have predicted, Williams soon regretted her decision.

"Let's fast forward to two hours... I just ran to the toilet... like I thought I was gonna pass out!"

“So now I feel really sick. It was just a spoonful,” she said. “I am on the struggle boat.”

So there you have it. Definitive proof that the dog's dinner should not be shared.
