She is one of the most famous faces in the world, one of the most successful pop stars of her time and one of the most followed people on social media, and still, Selena Gomez feels compelled to publicly acknowledge when she leaves the house not looking her best.
This week, obviously, was the Met Gala. Some of the world’s most famous came together on the steps of the Met, dressed in outlandish costumes worth more that most of us will earn in a lifetime.
Joy.
In the days after the Gala, with social media awash with photos from the event, 25-year-old singer Selena Gomez stayed curiously quiet amidst all the unwelcome, negative chatter about her look.
That is until today, when this came along:
“Me when I saw my pictures from the Met,” she wrote, alongside a video of herself running from the camera.
Because such are the perils of fame, and such is scrutiny on female appearance, Gomez launched what can be almost seen as a pre-emptive strike: Don’t tell me how I looked, I know it already.
The irony, of course, is that Selena looked dazzling.
In a gown by Coach, this year was the second year Gomez wore the designer to the Met Gala, after being named the brand’s ambassador in 2016. Later this year, she is designing the first Coach x Selena Gomez collection.

I thought she looked had it as a result of her recent transplant.
Anti-rejection meds don't turn you orange and give you bad makeup.
I guess if you consider a Cheeto "dazzling", your description is accurate....
