Kim Cattrall criticises 'cruel' Sarah Jessica Parker after her brother’s death.

On Monday, it was confirmed that Chris Cattrall, brother of Sex and the City‘s Kim Cattrall, had died.

The actress had asked for help to find her missing brother just days earlier, before sharing the sad news with her fans.

“It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall,” she wrote.  “At this time we ask for privacy but we want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time.”

But now, Cattrall has criticised “hypocritical” Sarah Jessica Parker for her words of support.

On Friday when speaking to Extra TV, Parker sent her “love and condolences” to Cattrall and her family.

“Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now,” Cattrall responded in the Instagram post.

“Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona,” she wrote.

Cattrall then provided a link to a story in the New York Post titled “Inside the mean-girls culture that destroyed ‘Sex and the City’”, which specified the details of the clique Parker had formed with the other cast mates, excluding Cattrall throughout the duration of filming the hit show.

Last September, Cattrall declared she did not wish to appear in a third instalment of the Sex and the City movie franchise if there were to be one, labelling her relationship with Parker and her other co-stars as “toxic”.

That same month, Parker announced the third Sex and the City movie would not go forth.

“I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story,” Parker said on Extra.

Parker directly responded to Catrall’s damaging comments on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live earlier this month, claiming she was “heartbroken” about Cattrall’s voiced distaste over their sour relationship and work experience together.

“I found it very upsetting because that’s not the way I recall our experience,” said Parker.

Parker has not yet made comments in response to Cattrall’s Instagram post.

I find SJP’s comment interesting, that she thought they all got along fine. I’m wondering how many people have heard that before from people who were not nice to them in school. It’s that whole ‘frienemies’ thing, isn’t it. ‘What, all that teasing and bitching and exclusion? Oh that was just us joking around! You didn’t take it seriously, did you?’ Often two people will have very different memories of an experience, and i think this is a perfect example.

I think people sometimes claim to have different memories of a situation intentionally, to make themselves feel better.

There was a girl at my high school who was a part of the "mean girls" group but wasn't ever personally mean to me, or anyone else that I was aware of. I ended up working with her very briefly several years ago. She asked me one day if I had plans to attend the upcoming high school reunion and I said no, as high school was not a great time for me and I mostly remember being picked on a lot, for no real reason I could ever figure out. She looked utterly confused, even though she was witness to several of the incidents. I'm not sure if she genuinely didn't remember or if she was just kidding herself, so she didn't have to feel guilty for standing by and watching it happen. :\

Or, SJP is completely aware of the fact they were not friends, but found it more in keeping with her brand to suggest in public that they were? Hence the need now to send public condolences so everyone sees what a great person she is...? Cattrall simply appears to be calling her out by refusing to play along with the charade.

It’s a dismaying thought that the ‘Mean Girls’ paradigm still persists even into our 40s and 50s!

Yes exactly If someone is saying they felt bad because of the actions of someone else Its usually the truth ,, I woudnt be surprised if SJP was enraged with jeolousyshe really is quite ugly,, yes the make-up an clothes portray something different but if you could see her first thing in the morning minus the make-up an hair it would be screaming ugly she knew cattrell was very very Attractive with or without the make-up,, the skinny bitch was ugly on the inside as well it turns out
