Studio 10 co-host Sarah Harris is set to introduce her baby boy Paul to his “extended TV family” on Monday’s show but has a warning for her body-shamers: lay off.
The new mum gave birth to son Paul last December but was under the watchful eye of body-shamers who took to the internet to slam her appearance during pregnancy.
Harris told News Corp she resented the fact her body was made a headline.
“The headline with the photo was ‘Sarah flaunts her post-baby body’ and I went, ‘no, I’m not flaunting it at all. I’m leaving the house, I haven’t brushed my hair and if I wasn’t wearing these Spanx I’d look three sizes bigger,” she said.
“What I look like is the last thing I’m thinking about right now … I’m still healing.”
Harris’ appearance on Studio 10 on Monday is just a cameo, with the presenter set to make a full-time comeback to our screens after Easter.
For now, she’s just looking forward to introducing her 7-week-old baby boy to his new, extended TV family and hoping little Paul’s TV debut is as smooth as he is quiet when watching the show at home.
“When you have a baby, you realise it’s a noisy show … there’s applause, there’s Joe Hildebrand sitting there talking the whole time, there’s so many sounds he heard all the way through the pregnancy, so when you sit him in front of the telly, he actually goes a bit quiet.
“The applause, the people chatting and the music, it’s a comfort to him…that’s pretty cool.”
