Sandra Bullock opens up about playing the evil Scarlet Overkill.
You’ll want to get aquainted with Sandra Bullock‘s evil mastermind character in Minions because we’re sure your kids will drag you along to go see the Despicable Me spin off.
Hint: We have a big feeling you won’t like her.
Bullock, 50, voiced the character Scarlett Overkill, who is the world’s most powerful villain who aspires to stealing the Queen’s crown.
While we're used to seeing Bullock as more of the 'girl next door' type, the mum of one explains she loved playing a character that was nasty and bad.
"She's more like me than anything else I've been in," Bullock joked when speaking to The Press Association. "She's evil, she's crabby and a little bit bitchy - all the traits that I think make a good villainess."
Bullock thinks Overkill is the sort of character you'll love to hate. "It's more fun to be mean than it is to try and make nice with everybody all the time," she explains.
But while it seems Bullock thinks it's good to be a little bad, her main motivation behind taking on the character was actually her son, Louis.

"I wanted to make something my son could see and watch and enjoy, even though he doesn't know what I do and he doesn't know it's me - I can sit in the theatre and watch him," Bullock said.
