Zoe Breakwell and her family became worried when her husband Adam Beattie didn’t come back to their Central Coast home on Saturday night.
According to news.com.au, the couple had an argument that night at Doyleson RSL Club and the 41-year-old left. But when he didn’t arrive at their apartment in Budgewoi, the family began an anxious search.
One of his relatives pleaded on Facebook for anyone who had seen the father-of-three to contact them immediately, urging Adam to “please contact us” if he saw the message.
The next afternoon the family learned of Adam’s fate after Zoe made the gruesome discovery.
A witness told Nine News that when the mum saw her husband’s lifeless body on the roadside near San Remo she began “screaming, collapsing” and “vomiting”.
Julie Dyer heard the woman scream: “He’s dead! He’s dead!”
It is believed that Adam had been killed about 11pm on Saturday night.
On Monday morning a 43-year-old woman handed herself into Wynong police after learning of their appeal for information about Adam’s death.
She has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death and fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death and will appear in Wyong Local Court on August 20.
