Singer Samantha Jade shared her engagement announcement and would you look at that ring?

With a one word caption – “Yes!” – Samantha Jade, 31, shared some happy news with her Instagram followers on Thursday night. She’s engaged to boyfriend Pat Handlin.

The gorgeous black-and-white photograph showed the couple embracing, the singer wearing a huge smile across her face.

Oh, and a ring. She’s also wearing ring. With what appears to be a pretty, erm, substantial stone. Although, she is rather small person, so cannot confirm if big ring or just tiny, tiny hand. (Stay tuned for updates.)

And Thursday’s announcement has been met by excitement from tens of thousands of Samantha Jade’s fans and followers. Among them, singer Ricki Lee Coulter who wrote, “Congratulations gorgeous!” And Guy Sebastian, who added, “8th like!”. Mate.

The season four X Factor winner has reportedly been dating Pat, the son of Sony Music Australia CEO Dean Handlin, for over a year. The pair were first spotted together in public back in June 2017, holding hands as they shopped in Bondi.

According to Who magazine, the couple spent last Christmas together in Perth – Samantha’s home city – at which point she confirmed they were “going good” and “very happy”.

This is Samantha Jade’s first public relationship since her seven-year, long-distance Swedish music producer Christian Nilsson ended in 2013. At the time, she told the Daily Mail she was nervous to be single again.

“I’ve never really been on a date because I was with my last boyfriend for so long, now I don’t know what to do,” she said.

We’re not sure anyone does, really. But clearly something clicked with Pat. (So… tips welcome.)
