Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has rejected the proposal.
There’s been talk in Victoria today of asking older drivers to display ‘S plates’ on their cars as a way to reduce the number of accidents caused by elderly drivers.
Obviously elderly people aren’t the only ones posing risks on the road so as long as we’re throwing suggestions around, we have a few more we’d like to add to the mix:

I just got home from a quick trip to the shops. An elderly man decided to do a U-turn on a main road, right in front of me. I was doing 60km!!!!
I'm not for "S plates" I'm for mandatory driving tests for elderly drivers! None of this doctors note bullshit. The amount of older people that get their family doctors to sign off is just ridiculous!!
Exactly. Test them, its that simple! Why NOT test them? It wont hurt their feelings if they're decent drivers and pass...?
Im not against the S plates.
On a side note why is Mamamia suddenly doing videos for everything? Surely a lot of us read this at work and having a video blaring every 5 minutes is not ideal. (don't tell my boss ;-) )
