A special Gilmore Girls scene shows Rory Gilmore meeting Michelle Obama.

GILMORE GIRL FANS UNITE.

We have been given our first look inside the new world of Rory Gilmore, where she casually meets Michelle Obama. You know, the First Lady of the United States? No biggie.

Released by the Gilmore Girls official Twitter account, the video sees the wonderful Rory chat to Mrs Obama about the best books she should read, as part of her Let Girls Learn initiative.

It begins with the classic Rory charm, getting caught up in the china room.

“Sorry I’m late – I got distracted in the china room again. I could live in there.”

They then continue to talk about Rory’s one and only true love: books.

“But I heard about your great trip for the Let Girls Learn initiative, and I know you’re going to need a great book to read on the plane. So, I thought I’d bring a few choices. I didn’t know what mood you’d be in so I brought all of Shakespeare ‘cause you can’t go wrong with the Bard,” and she goes on to list all the highly intelligent books that only Rory Gilmore can read.

“Jane Austen,” she says. “I mean, c’mon, Jane Austen? And then there’s Moby Dick, Anna Karenina, The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire – you know, some class beach reads.”

You thought you had been given enough after Rory’s beautiful lines of her favourite books, but then she whips out a gift from her mum.

It is none other than some blueberry pop tarts.

YES, LORELAI. YOU’RE STILL IN THERE.

Mrs Obama very graciously accepts them but clearly still doesn’t see the same value as Lorelai does.

LORELAI WOULD HAVE REALLY APPRECIATED THEM. 

The whole video is dedicated to promoting the fabulous work of Mrs Obama and her trip to Liberia, Morocco and Spain. It's all part of her Let Girls Learn initiative that concentrates on the challenges, which prevents girls from learning and getting an education.

Unfortunately, Rory wasn't able to make it onto the trip but like us, she can follow Michelle Obama on Snapchat.

We first learnt that Rory was making a making a stop at the Obama household from Mrs Obama's Snapchat.

We're just hoping that in between filming this video, they also found the time to also shoot a scene for the new season of Gilmore Girls.
