Cook MP Billy Gordon has been expelled from parliament for failing to declare his criminal offences.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has expelled MP Billy Gordon from Labor over a string of undeclared criminal offences.
Speaking to the media in Townsville, the Premier said Mr Gordon’s position was untenable.
Ms Palaszczuk said: “I’ve made it very clear that his position isn’t tenable. I’m not going to deal with hypotheticals. He knows my views, he knows the views of my government.
“I don’t think I can be any clearer.”
The Cook MP posted a statement on social media last night outlining a criminal history dating back to the 1980s and also revealed his mother took out an apprehended violence order against him in 2008.
Mr Gordon had been in the spotlight during the first week of Parliament, since allegations of domestic violence were levelled against him by a former partner, who also claimed he did not pay child support.

How did he get that far without the Premier knowing!? Police checks are a normal part of most employment contracts. Would've thought MPs would be under extra scrutiny!
Awww how about the other 'enquiries' going in against labor ATM. Arnt they a fine bunch.
