@bm123 You probably did nothing wrong. I also had the same experience. Ghosting is a reflection of the ghoster's emotional immaturity/insecurity. Adults communicate and, if need be, have tough conversations. Teens ghost.
I was that kid - and my son inherited my athletic ability. When he was in grade 6, I suggested we could do some running training, and while he'd never come first, he many no longer come last. He replied, "Someone has to come last. It might as well be me." He embraced his strengths and refused to buy into sporting culture as a measure of self worth. Self-acceptance is a far greater gift than the ability to run fast.
