Hi @isabellesilbery, thanks for sharing your journey into motherhood. I had an awful postpartum experience with my first child but didn't with my second because like you I was also privileged enough to seek respite in a similar space. My baby was taken between 10pm - 6am, my meals were made, tailored exercise routines made and I also had a private ensuite and queen size bed. This time I did not become unwell. Sleep depravation was considered one of the highest risk factors and thankfully it could be controlled this time around. The only difference is my stay was in a private psychiatric hospital with qualified nurses and doctors as part of the package. I find it interesting that you quoted PANDA's statistics. Have you considered that you too had PND? The symptoms you describe align.

@bowerbird thank you for sharing your story. One of my hospital diary entries said it was "hard being a god". It's so bizarre that something like this can happen with no previous history of mental health.
