I was the person most people within my department came to when they needed to discuss both the big and little moments in their lives.

When I left, honestly, I did not want to talk to anyone. I just wanted to leave and breathe again and not feel smothered by everyones thoughts and opinions.

Obviously I dont know your situation but perhaps your work wife was like me, in that she just needed to be by herself.

FYI - I am still in touch with my old workplace and my co-workers still comment how much they want me to return. But I feel/know they want me to return because I made life easier for them. They dont think about it from my pov, in the fact I was exhuasted and just needed to get away.
