I read this and it is my worst nightmare coming true. I was repeatedly molested for over 6 years and after having a son, was absolutely fearful that social media would unite my past predator with my son in some degree of separation. I have a way of thinking that helps me better cope with those who ignore or turn a blind eye to what is completely devastating to a child victim who keeps a secret for many years... or life. Be happy for those people who cannot relate as they were children free to be children. I know that is something I wished for me so i’m happy for them.

As far as your daughter’s association with your past. I am too creeped out by that to be constructive but can really feel the anxiety and all other emotions this has stirred up in me if I was to walk in your shoes but even to hear of your experience. That’s tough but I trust you sharing your pain with your daughter that she is appropriately alert as I believe my son was when I felt he was mature enough to be told. He is an adult now and I am confident in his decision making albeit my trust issues would determine he is too trusting.
