In 2020 during lockdown I felt a lump. I was 38. I too had a mamagram and an ultrasound.
I find this quote alarming...
According to the doctor, many younger women end up having unnecessary biopsies done on breast lumps, as only 20-40 per cent of all breast lumps are actually cancer and 80 per cent of new breast cancers are in women 50 and over.
I was 38. I'm glad they sent me for a biopsy. Everything that followed was traumatic but that biopsy saved my life because it was triple negative breast cancer.
Chemo, radiotherapy and a double mastectomy followed all during covid and lockdowns, but I'm still here.
