@snorks now you’ve missed the point. The whole thing is basically curated satire. But who let her into the olympics? I agree her performance was embarrassing but there are systems and processes in place by highly regarded and intelligent people and it still slipped by. The disrespect is the failure in the process and to let this even be an opportunity for someone representing our great country. Raygunn tested the system and won - let’s all wait for the book in 2025 and then speaking tours. I don’t agree with it but the observation I was trying to highlight is it was all premeditated and and the finger pointing needs to be redirected. It was a disappointing representation but she didn’t pick herself.
How is it everyone is missing the point? She has a doctorate in cultural studies and has just created a narrative for #raygun - has she not just crafted some cultural phenomenon that we are all playing a part in? Totally fine with this but her interviews seem like she anticipated it all. No disrespect and absolute kudos to her for getting amongst it, she couldn’t rig the selection process (well in my very limited knowledge) but look at the blow up now. She’ll be the 2024 Olympic version of Steven Bradbury - yeah that’s right we all remember his name. FYI I’m hitting a ray gun 7 today!
Well done Kiani 🙌🏻 This is such a great example of grit and determination. You should be so proud. I really needed to read this right now. Thanks for sharing and wishing you all of the best of everything for the future. 🤍
