Great article Mia and lots of food for thought for all the generations of parents out there, past present and emerging! I think a natural extension of this, which I've seen over the course of my lifetime, is the greater role extended family and also your friends can play as role models and bouncing boards as you raise your kids. That "village" can play a very energetic and positive role, particularly if they don't have children of their own, where the different languages can be the balance.
