I must preface that I have no qualms with families electing to go with IVF. While the baby's body autonomy is definitely an issue here, my problem is less that they had the 6th child, and more that they had the 5th knowing full well that if conceived and male, he had a 50% odd of having this disease. Especially after having gone through the horrors of the illness with their first son, they still considered putting a new child through all that pain. I feel like options like adoption should have been considered if they wanted to add onto their family. Something that would have less chances of knowingly putting their children through this. I'm glad this worked out for them in the end, and I wish the kids the best, but the parents were undeniably selfish having the knowledge they had.
