I wouldn't wish our experience on my worst enemy, but I'm proud that we survived it and know now that I am very strong and resilient. Sending love and compassion to anyone who may be going through this. You are stronger than you realise and there is still joy in unexpected places 💙

Devastating. My girls were 10 and 12 years old when their father took his life. Their teenage years were spent acting out and abusing and blaming me due to their grief (and abusing alcohol and drugs, self harming and several suicide attempts) with barely any family or other support. 20 years later we have come out the other side and they are very kind and compassionate women but still scarred (literally and figuratively).
