I too understand that everyone has their own experience with adoption and no experience is the same.

adopted that I don’t feel like I don’t belong with my parents and extended family. I don’t even think about them or classify them as being an adoptive family. My parents have given me everything I need to have a great life and for that I am eternally grateful. They have been there for every event good and bad. Whilst there have always been ups and downs in life due to family dynamics, they have always made me feel like I belonged with my parents and extended family. I have known about my adoption since I was 2. Yes, it was intriguing to see the biological connection with my son - just love it as it is something special we share but I have to say I am not in a need/hurry to find the other family. I am content.
