It’s certainly been tough, and it’s so frustrating that selfish individuals and their actions are stopping us from moving forward. We’re sick of it. We're exhausted. But every time we turn on the news I appreciate that we are so lucky to have a community and a government that is working together to put the health of our most vulnerable Victorians first.

I can’t imagine the suffering that is happening in nations that have just given up on trying to contain the virus. I don’t want to have to bury my mum (59), who has an autoimmune condition. I don’t want to lose my 87 year old grandmother who is independent, active and makes an incredible contribution in the community. I don’t want anyone to have to live with years of suffering from ‘long COVID’ or face the consequences of irreparable damage to their organs.

And this is what’s keeping us going. We’re certainly struggling, but most Victorian’s would prefer to be locked down than having to say their goodbyes to a loved one via a video call.
