I think unfortunately it’s become very socially acceptable and normal to be flaky and bail on people at the last minute. 

I can very much relate to this. I’m a public school teacher in Vic and student behaviour is out of control. No respect, no discipline, no consequences. Leadership are a disgrace and do absolutely nothing. There’s always some excuse for poor behaviour.
