The current government (both state and federal) is devoid of compassion.  I am a migrant and unable to visit my very unwell father overseas.  There are just not enough quarantine facilities  to accommodate returning Australians and new migrants. Australian politicians are only concerned about elections and keeping borders shut which is very popular with the vast majority of voters. Other countries have managed to welcomed asylum seekers even during the covid pandemic and Australia must do more.  A pandemic is not an excuse.

Sorry, no sympathy here.  You are very privileged to have a good education and the means to be able to live and work overseas in cities such as London and New York.  Why should the taxpayer support your  five star hotel accommodation when the funds are urgently required to to help people in need.  Please visit the facebook page 550 reasons to smile.  Many people don't have money to put food on the table, let alone travel overseas.

We adopted our first dog last year. Owning a dog is very expensive and we only adopted as we are older and doing well financially.   It would have been impossible for us to afford a dog in our 20's or even 30's as we had to watch every cent. You should do an article about the recent adoption craze during t he covid-19 crisis . What happens when everyone goes back to work  and holidays etc.  Will we see an increase in animals being dumped?
