I was slapped by a young man on the stairs at the train station so hard I was on the ground ... the police were dismissive as it was ..only a slap...its assault regardless
As the white parent in an interracial family I feel you. But there is no Preparation for your child being called the N Word or his friends being told by their parents not to play with him because he's "dirty Anger was always my go to and I wish I had handled it better in those days but the biggest frustration was how protective other people were of the racist how the excuses of "it's just a joke "and "you shouldn't let it bother you" were continually thrown at me as if it was our fault. Yes racism is alive and well in Australia and will continue unless good people stand up not stand by
Heartbreaking
I'm nearly 60 and was shoved going up the stairs at Wynyard station by a man in his 20s I shoved back and he slapped me hard across the face..knocking me down. The police officer said he would have to charge me with assault if I wanted the man charged as I "started it" That's how some people get to think they can get away with violence on women. They justify it
