I’m a new mum of two beautiful boys and the idea of a third terrifies me and this article speaks to my truth inner voice. My thoughts also go to managing the dynamics of their relationships and making sure they all feel loved, supported and heard.

The guilt kicks in, like I’m being selfish for not having more (even though with unlimited resources, I’d have/want more). My mum and so many before have come from families where the different responsibilities and expectations on children impacted their relationships with their siblings and other aspects of their lives.

However, I’m fully aware that some mums are completely up for this challenge and have totally got this. So now when asked ‘how many kids do you want’ or ‘thinking of a third?’ (Within weeks of having my second!), rather than saying, no way, that’s crazy and laughing, I say I really don’t think it’s the right choice for me and my family.
