Ive had 2 early miscarriages. Both followed by normal pregnancies. The first one happened at about 7 weeks and started with light bleeding that continued through the day. Only mild period pain if any. Then i went to the toilet and and there was a plop into the toilet bowl. I freaked out about what to do. Is flushing appropriate? It seemed wrong. It looked about the size of a tennis ball. Bled like a normal period afterwards. I was incredibly sad for a long time. This was a very planned and wanted pregnancy. About a year later after fertility treatment i was pregnant again and felt a lot more cautious and weary that it could happen again. I didn't really feel confident about the pregnancy until about 5 months. The second miscarriage happened very early but was a similar experience. I don't feel sad about the miscarriages anymore but at the time it was a very traumatic and shocking experience.
If you get a painful/rigid scar from tearing or episiotomy you can also get a referral to a gynecologist and have steroid+local anaesthetic injected into the scar tissue. It breaks down the scar tissus. 3 treatments fixed the problem for me. Better than the surgery i expected to need and wish I'd done it much sooner.
