They may be wealthy, they may have labels clamouring to dress them, but even the Royals wear hand-me-downs. Well, the young ones, at least.
In a photograph taken this week to celebrate Princess Charlotte’s third birthday and the birth of her baby brother, Prince Louis, the toddler can be seen rugged up in navy blue Fina Ejerique cardi.
And while many were wondering why five-year-old Prince George was missing from the photo with his siblings, it seems there was a subtle nod to their big brother. This navy blue Fina Ejerique cardi was the same Prince George wore during a Vanity Fair photo shoot celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s 90th back in 2016.
Whether or not Prince George was aware that his sister had raided his wardrobe remains unclear.
According to British newspaper, The Sun, the four-year-old was at school when his mother, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, took the latest photograph.
In a short statement accompanying the image, Kensington Palace, expressed gratitude to the public on behalf of the Duchess and Prince William.
“Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank members of the public for all of the kind messages they have received following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday,” the statement read.
Why the Duchess of Cambridge won’t need to send thank you notes for her third baby. (Post continues below.)
The Palace also released another image of little Prince Louis taken by his mother on April 26, three days after his birth at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.
In it, the young prince is wearing the same cream-coloured, knitted jumper and leggings set that his sister wore for her first portrait.
They’re a generous lot, those royal kids.
