Royal nanny Maria Borrallo has worked for Kate Middleton and Prince William since 2014.
She is, of course, tasked with taking care of their three children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, nine months.
Borrallo was trained at the famous Norland College in Bath, one of the country’s top child care training centres. And so her prestigious education dictates that there is one word she should not say in front of the royal children.
The word “kids”.
According to author, Louise Heren, who spent a year researching the college, nannies are taught to refrain from using the word.
Speaking to the Mirror online, Heren said: “The word kid is banned. It’s a mark of respect for the children as individuals.”
Instead, Maria Borrallo should refer to them as either “children” or by their first names.
Heren added that the lives of three of the most famous children in the world were probably quite normal.

"I've spoken to nannies who have worked with other royal families and life is pretty normal," she told the Mirror.
"You get up, have breakfast, you go to school and you wear your school uniform whether you like it or not.
"It would be quite like the average British school children."

I'm not sure why "kids" isn't a mark of respect for them as individuals but "children" is. They're both collective nouns referring to a group of young humans.
