Royal fans can't get over how much Princess Charlotte looks like her famous relative.

Princess Diana’s niece Kitty Spencer felt the world’s attention as royal fans noticed her striking resemblance to her late aunt Princess Diana when she attended Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding in May.

And now the 27-year-old aristocrat is being compared to another of her royal relatives – her second cousin Princess Charlotte.

Royal watchers were quick to comment on the model’s similarity to three-year-old Charlotte when she posted a throwback photo of herself on her first day of school in the early 90s.

Even in black and white, the charity ambassador looks remarkably similar to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter, who is, of course, Princess Diana’s granddaughter. So much so that many fans who happened upon the photo were momentarily confused.

“I thought it was Princess Charlotte for a moment,” wrote one follower.

“I just thought palace released a new pic but then read the caption and name,” shared another.

“Princes Charlotte looks like you,” gushed one commenter.

Another observed that “Princess Charlotte has the Spencer genes”.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share two photographs of Princess Charlotte at Kensington Palace this morning. The images were taken by The Duchess shortly before Princess Charlotte left for her first day of nursery at the Willcocks Nursery School.

If Princess Charlotte’s resemblance to a young Kitty Spencer is anything to go by, we should expect her to grow up looking a lot like her much-loved grandmother.

Kitty turned heads earlier this year when she arrived at Meghan and Harry’s wedding in a green floral dress and matching headpiece.

For many casual royal fans, it was the first time they’d seen a grown-up Lady Kitty Spencer – and they couldn’t get over just how much she looked like a young Diana.

Kitty’s father Charles Spencer – Diana’s younger brother – took his family to live in South Africa for many years of his children’s childhood.

The almost-28-year-old has made a name for herself away from her family's royal connection as a model in both fashion magazines and on runways and also works as the ambassador for two UK-based charities.
