Another royal wedding is just around the corner, with the news that Princess Beatrice, 31, is officially engaged to multi-millionaire, property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 36.

Younger sister, Princess Eugenie shared the news on her personal Instagram, along with three photos of her older sister, and brother-in-law-to-be, one of which included the stunning engagement ring.

“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married,” read Eugenie’s Instagram caption, which she posted on behalf of the couple.

“We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

According to an official statement released by the Duke of York, the couple have been engaged for at least a few weeks, stating that the proposal happened while they were “away in Italy earlier this month”.

We love a royal couple, so in honour of their engagement, this is everything we know about Edoardo, or Edo, as he calls himself on his personal Instagram @edomapellimozzi.

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is an aristocrat himself.

In fact, he’s technically a Italian count.

Edoardo’s father is Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, who is also a former Olympic apline skier, competing for Britain in the 1972 Winter Olympics. His parents divorced when he was a teenager, and his mum, Nikki Williams-Ellis (formerly Nikki Shale) later married British Conservative politician, Christopher Shale.

As understood by The Sun, Edoardo’s family have been a close family friend of the Yorks, with Shale himself, a close friend of former UK Prime Minister David Cameron. When Shale passed away in 2011 of a heart attack, Beatrice, and her family attended his funeral.

Since their engagement, Edoardo’s parents have released a shared statement, writing: “We are truly delighted about Edoardo and Beatrice’s engagement. Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life. Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see. They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship”.

Edoardo also has an older sister, Natalia Mapelli Mozzi.

Professionally,  the Italian count is the CEO of Banda Design Studio, which he founded in 2007. According to their Instagram page @banda.property, they specialises in property development, acquisition, architecture and interiors, focusing on high end, luxury properties, with the dreamiest of interiors.

He also co-founded the non-profit, Cricket Builds Hope, with his step-brother, Alby Shale in 2011, which utilises cricket as a  tool for positive social change in Rwanda.

Edo and Princess Beatrice have been dating for less than a year.

Prior to dating Edoardo, it’s believed Beatrice had been single since her split from her American boyfriend, Dave Clark. After a decade long relationship, they ended things in 2016.

Although it’s unknown how Beatrice and Edoardo began their romantic relationship, the couple only made their first public appearance in March 2019, while attending the National Portrait Gallery Gala in London.

As reported by The Sun, the couple apparently began dating shortly after they both attended Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October, 2019.

“[They] hit it off instantly,” said a friend of the couple.

“Beatrice was delighted to find herself in the company of easy on the eye Edo and they started dating under the radar almost immediately.”

Princess Beatrice is set to be a step mum.

Edoardo also has a young son, Christopher Woolf 'Wolfie' Mapelli Mozzi, from his ex-fiance Dara Huang. The 37-year-old Harvard-educated architect was engaged to Edoardo for three-and-a-half years before they split, and has congratulated her former partner on his pending nuptials.

"I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families," she told MailOnline.
