Celeb news: Have Prince Harry and his girlfriend called it quits?

It might be a while before we get to see another royal wedding, after all.

PEOPLE magazine is reporting that Prince Harry and his girlfriend Cressida Bonas have broken up after two years.

A “source” has told the magazine that things were not going well between 29-year-old Harry and his 24-year-old girlfriend. This comes as a surprise to gossip magazine editors the world over as the couple had publicly appeared to be very happy in recent months – leading to speculation that wedding fever might have been passed onto the young couple.

One source told the magazine, “He found her too needy and it just wasn’t working out.”

However, another said that the breakup was “amicable”.

The second – somewhat kinder – source continued, “It’s very sad but they have decided to split up… This is an amicable decision and they are very much still the best of friends but they have decided to go their separate ways.”

Apparently, Cressida wants to concentrate on her career and she does not want to be “hounded” by the media.

The couple were introduced by Princess Eugenie and Cressida had just attended her first official royal event last month – leading tabloids to speculate that an engagement might soon be on the cards.
