The royals just out-royaled themselves with a present for George.

Because nothing says ‘privilege’ like a handmade artisan hut.

Remember when you were two years old and your grandfather got you a great present for your birthday? No? We’re not surprised… you were two.

Prince George, also known as the royal with the chubbiest cheeks alive, received a particularly extravagant present for his second birthday from his grandfather, Prince Charles.

Not satisfied with peasantry like Lego or Tonka Trucks, George demanded something a bit more… high-class. And Prince Charles delivered.

His present? A hut. A backyard hut to play in. But not just any hut, it’s described as a ‘$30,000 handmade artisan shepherd’s hut’, according to Daily Mail.

The hut sits in the gardens on Prince Charles’ country estate, Highgrove House. It features ‘French oak wooden floors’ because OF COURSE IT DOES and a small bed for George to not sleep in, because let’s be honest, it would be pretty ridiculous for a two-year-old to run off into the gardens and nap by himself.

We don’t even know what the words ‘artisan shepherd’s hut’ means but we’re pretty sure we weren’t getting that for our second birthday. But even if we did, we wouldn’t remember… or be able to appreciate it.

What’s even more extravagant is that George has apparently inherited a tree house once owned by his dad, Prince William. The tree house looks like a cool Balinese hut and was built for Wills’ seventh birthday. Supposedly he doesn’t have much use for it now – we can’t imagine why – but we bet he’s peeved all he got was a lousy tree house and not a shepherd’s hut.

Give it three days before George is so not bothered with his artisan hut any more.

It's tradition - start getting him used to the kind of accommodation (fancy lodges) he'll stay in when on hunting trips in Africa in about 15 years or so, just like all the other men in the family. Lovely. Wonder when he gets to shoot his first gun, and kill his first animal.
