Oh Andrew, you make me laugh (but your Greek barber accent needs some more work :-) ) My 14 yo is going through his phases and fortunately he's not displaying any of the horrible 'affluenza' type stuff (am grateful and happy that his Dad is an amazing role model), but he is a teenager and that comes with certain required behaviours (eye rolling, too much time vegging on the couch & on his phone, disagreeing with me all the time (it feels like that)....etc etc). Nevertheless, my friends always comment about how well behaved he is when they see him out and about, and that always gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling and makes me think that it'll be okay. Also, he's not afraid to give his Mum an occasional kiss on the check, even in front of his mates (at least for now, but hopefully that won't change)...
Sorry Holly and Andrew, but short hair doesn't solve the nit issue! I had long, tight ringlet curls as a kid (in the 70s); my brother's hair was short and dead straight. He got nits every time they were around; I didn't get them once - never had them in my life. Still had to endure fine combing to make sure each time little brother brought then home - I used to get so cross that he was the one who had nits, but I was the one who had what felt like hours of pulling the comb through the long curls!
